O'- -S', -X. -A- TC Mrs. Guy Hafen returned Monday Mon-day morning from a week end trip to Salt Lake City, where she visited relatives and attended sessions ses-sions of the conference of Federated Feder-ated Women's clubs. Mrs. Hafen is an officer of the local district. Mrs. Albert Anderson, daughter, Georgena, and Lynn Graff returned re-turned last Saturday from a brief trip to Provo where they visited with relatives. . Mrs. Virgil Snow and small son returned Thursday from Los Angeles, An-geles, where they have spent the past two months. Miss Maria Piatt of Newcastle arrived last Thursday to visit for several days with her sister, Mrs. Hela Seegmiller. Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Abbott and baby motored to St. George Sunday from Nelson, Nev. Mr. Abbott returned Monday, Mrs. Abbott and baby remaining to visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cottam. Ivan Hyatt, who is attending the dental college at the U.S. C. in Los Angeles, visited in St. George the fore part of last week with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hyatt. . Jed Shumway is reported im proving in the local hospital where he has been receiving treatment the past ten days. M. Mrs. John H. Riding was a medical patient at the local hospital hos-pital Feb. 5 to 7 inclusive. & The Vesta club held their business busi-ness meeeting last week at the home of Mrs. Henry Pickett, with her sister, Mrs. Olive Hirschi as hostess. Wendell Snow entered the local hospital Feb. 8th for surgery. ' Mrs. Nellie Kurt is a medical patient at the local hospital since Feb .6. She is reported making improvement. ' Mrs. Keith Fullerton underwent minor surgery in the McGregor hospital Feb. 9th. Harvey Wall returned to Moapa Feb. 10th, after ten days' hospitalization. hos-pitalization. Claud Thompson is able to be around again after being confined to his home the past three weeks with a broken leg, suffered when he was accidentally pinned between be-tween two cars at the Thompson-Arns Thompson-Arns garage. The Bridge Ettes were guests Wednesday afternoon of Mrs. Wil-lard Wil-lard Milne at her home. Light refreshments re-freshments were served following cards. The Hostess Sewing Circle met last Friday at the home of Mrs. Lee Owens. Sewing and visiting were followed by luncheon. The hostess' gift was a book of Defense De-fense Stamps. oe. jg. Mrs. ,Lothair Mangum and baby of Springville, her sister, Mrs. Dean Allred, and brother, Howard Carter, of Ogden,. motored to St. George Saturday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Carter. Mrs. Allred will remain for several days, the others having hav-ing returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley A. Nelson left last Sunday for Denver, where Mr. Nelson will attend a Gambles employees' conference, and Mrs. Nelson will attend Market Week. . They plan to return Sunday. - I Mrs. Millie Guehn and small daughter of Sparks. Nev., arrived last Friday to attend the marriage of Mrs. Guehn's sister, Shirley Ann Abbott to Ross Syphus. They J plan to remain a month to visit relatives. Mrs. Norman Atkin is spending the week in Kanab with her fam-' ily, due to the illness of her father, Mr. Henderson. Mrs. Nelson Fenton arrived on Tuesday from Kanab to, spend the week. Mrs. Lorraine Cox entertained the Easy Aces at two tables of Bridge at her apartment Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Mrs. Clyde Mc-Quaid Mc-Quaid and Mrs. Rex Nelson were high scorers, while Mrs. Iliff Andrus An-drus took consolation. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served to the group. Annette Pearce was hostess on Wednesday night to three tables of cards at the home of Mrs. E. Eric Snow. Mrs. Rust is their daughter, Elva. Billy Sanders of the Hurricane CCC camp came in Wednesday for surgery. w Mr. and Mrs. Claud Thompson spent the week end visiting at Milford and Beaver. Monday evening Mrs. Clark Empey, Mrs. Karl Hutchings and Mrs. Fred Boothe were hostesses to 14 members of the Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary. The group met at the . Liberty cafe, where lunch was served, and then went to the home of Mrs. Joseph Empey Em-pey to enjoy an evening playing Bridge. Mrs. Neil Lundberg, Mrs. Willard Milne and Mrs. - Tony Reynolds won the honors for the evening. x Visiting in St. George with relatives rela-tives were Mrs. Josephine Pace Sanders and daughter, LaPrele, of San Francisco,' and Mrs. Amanda Pace Peterson of Cedar City.
