Parowan leads the list with three of the six enlistments. en-listments. Their names are as follows: Arden "Speed" Richards, 20, son of David H. Richards, Parowan; Bryce Adams, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ancel J. Adams, Parowan; Arthur Lister, 20, son of Mrs. Etta Lister, Parowan; Robert Holden Tuckett, 26, son of Mrs. Mittle H. The boys from Parowan were in the local recruiting office on Monday and told me they "were rarin' to go". They were all sent home to wait orders for active duty from the main office. As far as we know they will be home anytime from one day to two weeks. Notice To Selectees One of the current problems at the Navy recruiting station these days is ' what to do with those men who are of draft age who wait until the last minute to apply ap-ply for enlistment in the Navy. The Navy welcomes you to its service and is ready and willing to do everything possible to see that you are extended all the opportunities op-portunities and privileges of a naval enlistment, but the Navy cannot and will not interfere with your status as regards your order in Selective Service. You must enlist before you have received your Army physical examination, or else the Navy will be forced to reject your application for enlistment enlist-ment unless you secure your release re-lease from your draft board. |
