Show HURRICANE Mrs. Thomas Hinton (AUNT MINA) Reporter Ersel Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Hall is home with an honorable discharge from the US navy. He enlisted Dec. 23, 1942, training at Camp Peary, Va. He served first in the Aleutians, traveling the coastal cities of Alaska, then returned to the US for one year, and on Oct. 30, 1944, was sent to the Pacific, and was in on the Okinawa campaign. cam-paign. Before leaving for the Pacific he flew to Salt Lake City where he married Miss Helen Whiteing in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Oct. 9. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Whiteing of Manti, and is here with him. Pfc. Jesse Robb, husband of Eulalia Slack Robb has his discharge dis-charge from the US army, having served in Europe for 8 months after training at west coast camps. He has three battle stars on his ETO ribbon. Mr. and Mrs. Robb and children have just returned from visiting in Salt Lake City. Home missionaries in the North ward Sunday were Wickley Gub-ler Gub-ler and Fenton Whitney, and in the South ward were Heber Hirschi of Rockville and Leo Bringhurst of Toquerville. Christmas Christ-mas anthems and music were , featured, sister, Ruth Spendlove, Mrs. Ora Mrs. Harold Glore and her Williams and daughter, Yvonne , spent last week in Salt Lake ; City on business. ' The Sterling Russell Post No. 100 Auxiliary banqueted the Lions ! and their ladies Monday evening l at the Legion hall. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Perkins i have their son SSgt Clarence Gam P. Perkins home with honorable discharge, after 26 months service in the Fiji Islands, Islands. He spent 15 months at Bouganville, and saw action at New Caledonia and the Solomon Cebu and Leyte, and was in Japan from September to Nov. 17, 1945. He has many medals and ribbons. T4 Don Gibson is home with his discharge after almost 19 months overseas, having seen action all through France, Belgium, Bel-gium, Germany and Luxemborg. He belonged to the railroad company, com-pany, has the ETO, American and Victory ribbons and five battle stars. His wife is Alton Wilson Gibson. - Cpl. Stanley Hinton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hinton, spent the week end home on furlough from Camp Leonard Wood, Mo. |
