Show ORDINANCE "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AMEND-ING CHAPTER 33 RELATING TO NUSIANCES, AND PROVIDING PROVID-ING FOR "THE REMOVAL OF UNSIGHTLY OBJECTS OR STRUCTURES, AMENDING Sec-TIONS Sec-TIONS 332 AND 333 OF SAID CHAPTER, AND ADDING SECTION SEC-TION 345x1, MAKING IT UNLAWFUL UN-LAWFUL TO MAINTAIN UNSIGHTLY UN-SIGHTLY OBJECTS OR STRUCTURES STRUC-TURES AND PROVIDING FOR THE REMOVAL THEREOF." BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of St. George, Utah, as follows: Section 332 is amended to read as follows: Section 332, Duties of City Inspector. It shall be the duty of the City Inspector for the purpose pur-pose set forth in chapter 10, title 15, Revised Statutes of Utah, 1933, and any amendments thereto, there-to, and in furtherance thereof, to make careful examination, and investigation in-vestigation of all property in the City of St. George as to whether noxious or injurious weeds, garbage, gar-bage, refuse, unsightly objects or structures, or other deleterious objects or structures are accumu-ating accumu-ating therein; and upon the discovery dis-covery of the same, it shall be the further duty of such inspector to asertain the names of the owners own-ers and description of the respective respec-tive premises so affected, and to serve notices in writing upon the owner or occupant of said land either personally or by registered mail, postage prepaid, addressed to the owner or occupant at the last known postoffice address as disclosed by the books and records re-cords of the county assessor, and to order and require such owner or occupant as the case may be of said land so affected to eradicate, destroy, or remove said weeds, garbage, refuse, unsightly objects or structures, deleterious objects or structures within such time as said inspector may designate, which shall not be less than ten days from date of service of said notice. One notice shall de deemed sufficient on any lot or property for the entire season of weed growth during the calendar year in which said notice is served. The inspector shall make proof of service of said notice under oath and file the same in the office of the county treasurer of Washington. County. Section 333 is amended to read as follows: Section 333. Neglect of Property Owners Removal by City. If any owner or occupant of said lands described in said notice so served by said inspector shall fail or neglect to cut, destroy, or eradicate eradi-cate said weeds, or remove and abate said garbage, refuse, unsightly un-sightly objects or structures, or deleterious objects or structures upon said premises, in accordance with said notice, it shall be the duty of the said inspector, at the expense of the City of St. George to employ necessary assistance and to cause such weeds, garbage, gar-bage, refuse, unsightly objects or structures, and deleterious objects ob-jects or structures to be removed and destroyed. He shall thereupon make in triplicate, itemized statements of all expenses incurred incur-red in the removal and destruction destruc-tion of the same and shall deliver the three copies of said statement state-ment to the county treasurer of Washington County within ten days after date of the completion of the work of removing said weeds, garbage, refuse, unsightly objects or structures, and deleterious deleter-ious objects or structures. Section 335X1. It shall be unlawful un-lawful for any person to permit or maintain upon his property, or property under his control, any unsightly object or structure ten days after receiving notice in writing trom tne City inspector that the City Council of the City of St. George has found unsightly objects or structures to exist upon said property. Section 335X2. All ordinances, resolutions and orders, or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions pro-visions of this ordinance are. to the extent of such conflict, hereby here-by repealed. I Section 334X3. That in the opm-1 ion of the City Council of the City of St. George, it is necessary neces-sary to the health and safety of j the people of said city, that this ordinance shall take effect im-1 mediately. Therefore, this ordin-l ance shall take effect upon its passage and publication.
