Show Spotlighting UTAH Golden Anniversary The Golden Anniversary of Utah's statehood will be duly observed ob-served by Utah citizens January 4, 1946. Special programs commemorating com-memorating the state's entrance, into the Union will be held in all Utah schools and Universities and at 8:o'clock p.m. in Salt Lake City, the day's events will be climaxed by a public meeting m the LDS Tabernacle where Senator Sena-tor Abe Murdock will deliver a special message from President Harry S. Truman. Dr. E. E. Monson, Secretary of State, and chairman of the general gen-eral committee in charge of the fiftieth anniversary observance throughout Utah is distributing 50 000 souvenir programs to Utah schools. The program will be given to all students and parents attending at-tending special anniversary Utah Citizenship" assemblies now being arranged by school officials for January 4. The souvenir programs will carry the preamble to the state constitution, a brief historical histor-ical sketch, the names of the first state officers and the names of the six surviving signers of the Utah constitution, and who will be in attetndance at the Tabernacle Taber-nacle exercises. Utah was the forty-fifth state to join the Union, and a new star was added to the constellation constella-tion of the national flag. The December issue of "Esquire" featured the "Utah Salt Flats" in an article written by Wayne Kearl, former Utahn. "Look Magazine", December issue, features fea-tures "Bushnell General Hospital" at Brigham City. "Desert Magazine", Maga-zine", September issue, features the San Juan river and southern I Utah. "Travel Magazine", November Novem-ber issue, featured the Bridges National Monument in an excellent excel-lent article by "Bob" McCullough, , Park City, Utah. "The National Geographic Magazine" featured ' Utah's "Monument Valley" in its ; October issue. "The Highway . Traveler" magazine will feature ; Utah's "Romantic Alta" in their January issue. "Railroad Maga-' Maga-' zine" featured "Soldier Summit" and the Denver and Rio Grande C Western Railroad's activities in Utah in the current January is-( is-( sue.
