Show MEWS OF THE COUNTY SEAT Relatives in St. George have been advised that Clyde Turn-beaugh, Turn-beaugh, who has been hospitalized in San Diego since February 8th, with pneumonia, is improving. Mr. Turnbeaugh is an employee of American aircrafts. M. Jt. W ', "7i- Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Harris and children and Lonnie Levanger motored mo-tored down from Glendale Friday. Mr.. Harris accompaned by Harold Foot went on to their employment employ-ment in Nevada, the others returning re-turning to Glendale. Miss Mary Nelson came down from Provo to visit with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson and other relatives over the week end. .Jt. Mr. and Mrs. Larkin Smith and their brother, Kenneth Smith, returned re-turned Sunday to Los, Angeles, where the two men are employed em-ployed in Defense plants. They have been visiting in St. George for ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hogan, Mr. and Mrs. William Carter and family, Mrs. Isaac Burgess and others attended the Sunday afternoon after-noon double funeral services in Mesquite for Smith Leavitt and Lister Hardy, victims of a highway high-way accident. Mrs. Carter is the sister-in-law of Mr. Leavitt. Mrs. Helen Madsen was hostess last Thursday evening to the A. D. Q. club members at her home. The evening was devoted to sewing, following serving of lunch. Last Saturday evening Miss Glenda Morris entertained friends at dinner and an informal sewing social at the home of Mrs. Clinton Clin-ton Snow. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Leach of Las Vegas were St. George visitors vis-itors Sunday. Mrs. Roxa J. Terry and grandson, grand-son, Dean Terry, arrived early Tuesday morning from Los Angeles, Ange-les, after a few weeks' visit with relatives. Dean went on to Enterprise Enter-prise Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Larson left Sunday morning for Salt Lake City where Mrs. Larson will be under the care of Dr. Middleton. Mrs. Larson has been confined to her bed here for a month. Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Randall received word this week that their son, Burke, who is stationed at Scofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii, was improving. He had lately undergone un-dergone a major operation. Mr. and Mrs. Val McArthur left Wednesday morning for Salt Lake City, where they will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Therol McArthur, while Mr. McArthur attends the lumbermen's convention conven-tion Friday and Saturday. Word has been received by relatives rela-tives and friends here of the birth of a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. T. LaVoy Esplin of Levan on March 1st. Mrs. Esplin is the former Miss Phoebe Lytle, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Lytle. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Turnbeaugh and daughter, arrived late Sunday from San Diego to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Taylor. Tay-lor. They were accompanied by Mrs. Maxine Kaminiski of Toledo, Ohio, sister of Mrs. Turnbeaugh, who has been visiting them in San Diego for two weeks. Mrs. Ted Simmons arrived last Thursday evening from Provo to visit for two weeks with her mother, Mrs. Vera Mitchell. George Thompson arrived Tuesday Tues-day from Cannonville, Utah, planning plan-ning to attend the spring quarter at the Dixie college for defense courses. |
