Show Possibilities Seen For Manganese Mine TOQUERVILLE, Utah. Possibilities Possibili-ties of the development of a manganese mang-anese mine near the Kolob Mesa west of Smith's mountain, six miles east of Toquerville were declared de-clared as highly probable by H. M. Wallace of this city discoverer of the ore bed. Mr. Wallace reports that the Kolob Manganese company has taken a 100,000 option on six claims and are planning to develop de-velop the mine a? soon as weather will permit. A. Ezra Gull, mining engineer, was here about a month ago and will b3 back as soon as the weather clears. Karl V. King, manager of the mining company will soon bring men in to operate the mine. "Test pits produce ore that is 50 per cent metalic, 5 per cent silica, 1 per cent zinc and 4 per cent phosphate acid. One third of the bedding is high-grade ore needing only log-washing, jogging ir hand-sorting. Some nodules veigh as much as four pounds. "Ve are down 50 feet and the -trikc is increasing in width," declares de-clares Mr. Wallace. |
