Show HURRICANE Miss Julia Whitney Reporter Mrs. Clave Walker spent Saturday Satur-day in Cedar City visiting with friends and relatives. Robert Rollee and Raymond Wilsey of Parowan were Friday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stanworth. Mrs. Olive Faxton and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Farns of Lovell, Wyo., former form-er residents of Hurricane, spent Saturday calling on old friends here. Misses Florence Imlay and Anna Snow have gone to Zion National Park to work. Eldean Hartley, Junior Hinton, Fenton Hirschi, and Garn Stan-worth Stan-worth have returned from Zion Park where they have been working work-ing during the summer. Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Stanworth and son, of Cedar City, were recent re-cent visitors at the home of their son, Thomas Stanworth. Robert and Gail Isom of Cedar City spent a few days visiting with their sister, Mrs. Emma Bal lard. Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Wood of Three Creeks spent Friday visiting visit-ing at the home of his mother, Mrs. Anna J. Wood. Miss Inez Gibson, who has been visiting in Salt Lake City for the past six weeks with her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Leslie Deans, returned home recently. Miss Helen Stanworth spent the week-end in Cedar City visiting visit-ing with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Stanworth. Mr. and Mrs. Norris Brown of Kanab were Thursday visitors at the home of her mother, Mrs. Anna J. Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Gibson, ao companied by his mother left recently re-cently for Los Angeles. Mr. Gibson Gib-son will seek employment there. Miss Nelda Atkin, who has been working in Cedar City for the past summer returned Friday. Ray Spendlove of Boulder City is here for a short visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Spendlove. Raymond Adams of Bunkerville is here visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer A. Graff. Orval Wright, who has been working in Bryce Canyon the past summer, returned home Saturday. Miss Bonnie Ballard, who has been visiting in Washington for some time, returned home recently. re-cently. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Homer and family of Sacramento, Calif., spent Sunday here visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Wilden Tweedie and family of St. George spent a few days visiting with his mother, Mrs. Flora Tweedie. Miss LaDonna Stevens returned home Tuesday from Cedar City, where she has been working for some time. Mr .and Mrs. Melvin DeMille and Mr. and Mrs. Axel Yergensen of Monroe visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George I. Spendlove Spend-love Sunday and Monday. Misses Ruth Wall, Eleanor Nichols, Fern Starr and Owen Hall, school teachers at the Hurricane Hur-ricane high, have arrived. Miss Raquel Bennett of Parowan Paro-wan spent Monday afternoon visiting vis-iting with Miss Beth Whitney. E-areld and Lee Dodge, who have been visiting here during the summer returned to their home in Las Vegas Sunday. Edward Nelson has moved to Las Vegas where he has employment. employ-ment. Mrs. Nelson has gone to Cedar City temporarily and will join her husband later. Vestal Laub of Cedar City was a visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Fenton Whitney. Mr. and Mrs. John Humphries and daughter have gone to Salt Lake Cit yon a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. Horatio Gubler, who have been staying here during dur-ing the summer, have left for Modena, where he will teach school. Allan Humphries returned Monday Mon-day from a business trip to Ogden. The Freeborn DeMille reunion was held in Zion National Park on the upper camp ground, Aug. 30. Relatives were present from Monroe, Springdale, Rockville, La-Verkin La-Verkin and Hurricane, seventy people in all. Mr. and Mrs. Melbourne DeMille De-Mille and family of Monroe were visiting at the home of Mrs. Sarah J. Petty Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hall and four children of Monroe were visiting vis-iting relatives here during the week-end. George Hastings of Ogden and Eugene Hastings of Salt Lake spent Sunday and Monday visiting at the home of their mother, Mrs. Thomas Isom. Orrin Ballard, who has been working in Cedar City was here recently for a visit with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Ballard. Bal-lard. Thomas Isom left Tuesday for Salt Lake City where he, along with other men from southern Utah, will discuss further the Virgin river project. Tony and Vivien Sullivan of Las Vegas are here for an extended ex-tended stay visiting relatives. Miss Lucille Russell, who has been working in Cedar City, returned re-turned to her home recently. |
