Show Change Announced In Name Of Grazing District At the time the Grazing Service gave names to the Grazing districts dis-tricts in the nine western states, including Arizona, the area north of the Colorado river in Arizona, in Mohave and Coconino counties was given the name of "Hurricane Grazing district", named after the great Hurricane fault which runs north and south of the Utah line to the Colorado river. This name did not "take" with the public, as very few in Arizona were aware of the name of this great fault. This country between the Colorado Colo-rado river and the Utah line has always been known to Arizonans as the "Arizona Strip". To meet the wishes of the public and of the stockmen who are users of this great area, the name of this grazing district has been changed to "Arizona Strip Grazing district", dis-trict", reports John Ray Painter, I regional grazier. |
