Show Friday, Sept. 12, Day Set For Andelin Concert In Tabernacle Announcement of Friday, Sept. 12 as the date set for the concert to be presented in the St. George Tabernacle by Willard Andelin, assisted as-sisted by Gloria Dawn, soprano, and Mrs. Andelin, accompanist, was made today by Jos. W. McAllister, Mc-Allister, through whose influence it was possible to bring this famous fam-ous group here. Gloria Dawn won the national contest at Flint, Mich., this year. Prior to winning there she had won the state honors and as such was entitled to compete in the national contest. Mr. Andelin is well known throughout the nation for his ability as a concert singer, and, those who remember his singing when he was a student at the B. Y. U., will look forward to again hearing him. Mrs. Andelin is reported to be a very talented pianist and accompanist. ac-companist. She teaches music in five of the Chicago schools and has established a musical reputation reputa-tion which should indicate the type of program that will be presented pre-sented here. Funds for Organ "One-half of the proceeds received re-ceived from the concert will go toward the purchasing of a new pipe organ for the Tabernacle, states Mr. McAllister. "This gives the people of this section an opportunity op-portunity to hear an outstanding musical program and provide funds for a worthy cause". |
