Show Engagement of Miss Alice G. Thompson To E. LeGrande Nelson Announced Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Claude M. Thompson Thomp-son announce the engagement of their daughter, Alice G. Thompson to E. LeGrande Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson of this city. The secret of their betrothal be-trothal was divulged to inmiate friends by Miss Thompson and Mr. Nelson last Saturday, while he was visiting in St. George from Logan, where he is at present employed with J. C. Penney Co. Both Miss Thompson and Mr. Nelson are graduates of the Dixie junior college where they have been prominent in student activities. activi-ties. Both were honor students. Miss Thompson is an accomplished violinist and dance artist, and has been constantly in demand as an entertainer at religious, social and civic affairs during her residence in St. George. She was elected Miss St. George in the contest of July 1939, and has scored other honors. Mr. Nelson also has music and (dramatic talent, playing several band and orchestra instruments. Since completing his courses at the Dixie junior college he graduated gradu-ated from the department of business busi-ness administration of the University Uni-versity of Utah in 1941. No actual date has been set for the Thompson-Nelson nuptials. Miss Thompson returned last Saturday from visiting relatives and friends in northern Utah and southern Idaho, spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Ted) Simmons of Preston, Ida. |
