Show Dixie College News The Parowan high school players under the direction of C. W. El Hot, gave an excellent interpre tat ion of the popular play, "Smil ing Through", at the college audi torium Monday night. The younf actors showed superior training ir completely captivating those whe attended. D. J. C. Faculty's Chicken Supper The Dixie college faculty enjoyed en-joyed a chicken supper as a feature fea-ture of their monthly social, held last: Friday evening. Following the luncheon, the group went in 8 body to the Hurricane-Dixie basketball bas-ketball game, with Rodney Ashby and Margaret Jones as cheer leaders. This pair almost stole the show, but in spite of the faculty fac-ulty enthusiasm Hurricane was not to be confused. Following the game the teachers enjoyed themselves them-selves at miscellaneous games in the gym. Edward Christensen was chairman chair-man of the faculty committee. He was assisted by Robert Patton, John T. Woodbury, Ellis Everett and Miss Myrtle Henderson. D. J. C. To Take Final Exams CPT students at the Dixie college col-lege will take their final examinations examin-ations Friday. The new are in the midst of taking physical examinations ex-aminations preparatory to beginning begin-ning the spring program. The Civil Air Patrol also began its training course Tuesday evening. eve-ning. Twenty hours of first aid instruction will be given by Dr. L. W. McGregor. Basic military training will be given each Friday Fri-day night by Carl Moss. D. J. C. The seniors are planning a class party for Monday night. D. J. C. The sophomore girls, winners of the girls' intramural series in basketball, defeated the freshman boys, cellar champions in the boys' series, in a dramatic game last Thursday noon. The score was 12-4. The game was played according ac-cording to girls' rules. The boys found the handicap quite serious, much more so than they had an-ticiapted. an-ticiapted. Only their superior height enabled them to come out on top. D. J. C. The Hurricane high school presented pre-sented the comedy, "Young April", at the college auditorium last Thursday evening. The problems of the adolescents involved kept the audience in a roar of laughter. The comedy is a sequal to the one presented by the Hurricane high school last year, "Growing Pains". It was directed by Miss Ruth Wall. D. J.C. Arrangements are now complete for the opening of the spring quarter at the Dixie college on Monday. Several new courses are being offered and many others repeated for those desiring them. There is still opportunity for those interested to enroll in vocational carpentry or in mortar trades. No charge is made for these vocational vo-cational courses. D.J.C. The B. A. C. presented a goodwill good-will program before the students of the Dixie college last Friday. Mrs. Grace Starr Hawkes, Dixie graduates, and now dean of women at B. A. C. was present with the group of Aggie students. D. J. C. " Miss Nellie Thompson, Cannon-ville, Cannon-ville, was the winner of the Washington Wash-ington birthday oratorical contest held at the college Monday. Other finalists were Ross Esplin, Order-ville; Order-ville; and Betty Lou Graff, Can-nonville. Can-nonville. D. J. C. The Omega Delta club, dramatic fraternity, will hold a social tonight. to-night. D. J.C. The college vocal music department depart-ment has selected as the opera for this year, "Princess Ida", by Gilbert and Sullivan, according to J. W.
