Show Evan Hunt Killed In Action At Marshall Island Sad news came over the week end to Mr. and' Mrs. Isaac Hunt of this city of the death of their grandson, Evan Hunt, son of William Wil-liam and Lou Fawcett Hunt, of 1242 Frazier avenue, Los Angeles, who was killed in action at Marshal Mar-shal Lsland. Just what day of the battle Evan s death occurred is not known, nor are any of the detail": de-tail": available. The first news received re-ceived by his parents was the official of-ficial telegram from Washington, D. C, annnouncing that Evan had been identified as one of the slain. Later they received a letter from Evan's commanding officer commending com-mending this young American as an outstanding soldier and paying tribute to his courage. Born in St. George, Jan. 2, 1920. Evan had just passed his 22nd birthday anniversary. The last word received direct from him by his parents was a letter written writ-ten on his natal date. The family resided for some time in St. George before going to Los Angeles An-geles to make their home. Surviving besides his parents are the Hunt twins. Donald and Dorothy, and another brother, Lester Hunt, all of Los Angeles and their aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hunt of this city. This is the first death thus far reported to bring sorrow to relatives rela-tives in this city.. |
