Show High Prices For Butterfat and Cream Reported Being Paid At Las Yegas A price of 78 cents per pound for butter fat and 60 cents for sweet cream is reported by Reed Stevens, president of the Brook-lawn Brook-lawn Creamery company, for these products at Las Vegas. Mr. Stevens Stev-ens reports that he has made two trips into Las Vegas during the : past two weeks and has surveyed this market with the result that I he has come to the conclusion j that this would be a permanent! market for dairy products from the Dixie section. j In commenting on this market and the need for further dairy production in this county, Mr. Stevens writes as follows: j "Really, I do not know of a better market than Las Vegas. It is unfortunate that the people of Dixie did not accept my recommendation recom-mendation last year to get 500 cows in production there. As stated a year ago, we believe this would be a better market for the production of the Dixie section than for us to have a manuafac-turing manuafac-turing plant there. "It seems that what is necessary, neces-sary, is to gradually work into a good dairy production in Dixie, which could easily be 5100,000 a year at the Las Vegas market. It is a matter of getting good cows, taking excellent care of them and producing a good quality." qual-ity." The above information was received re-ceived by Lawrence Wadsworth in a letter written him by Mr. Stevens. |
