Show Mr. and Mrs. Blayne Bleak visited vis-ited relatives in St. George Wednesday Wed-nesday while enroute to Los Angeles, An-geles, where Mr. Bleak has employment em-ployment in the Lockheed plant. The couple were married Tuesday Tues-day evening at Salt Lake City, at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. Bleak is the son of' Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Bleak. While here he visited with his granmother, Mrs. Tina Macfarlane and with his grandfather, Samuel T. Bleak and other relatives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Snow. Pres. Harold S. Snow and his counselors, Vernon Worthen and Vivian J. Frei, and Pearson H. Corbett, Seminary instructor returned re-turned last Monday from attending attend-ing conference in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Alice Miller spent the week end in Salt Lake City on business. 3k Ik 3fc Mr. and Mrs. Keith Fullerton and daughters returned to Las Vegas Wednesday after visiting with relatives over Easter. 8 3fc Mrs. Susie Dodge and Miss. Lillian Lil-lian Lowe were recent visitors in St. George from the Castle Cliff station. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Tobler and family spent Saturday and Sunday Sun-day in St. George with their sister, sis-ter, Miss Lucille Gates. Walter Moss returned over the week end from a business trip to Salt Lake City. He was accompanied accom-panied by Paul Condie of Standard Stand-ard Stations. 8 & Mr. and Mrs. Donald P. Seeg-miller Seeg-miller and son, Allen, of Los Angeles, An-geles, were visiting relatives and friends in St. George, Toquerville and Cedar City last Thursday over Saturday, also attending the Temple sessions. Mrs. C. C. Starr returned to the Coast with them to visit her son, Art Starr. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker and family of Minersville were St. George visitors over Saturday and Sunday at the home of their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baker of this city. Mrs. Jerry Hoff took the Tuesday Tues-day evening bus for her home in Taft, Calif., having been the house guest for the the past two weeks of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Riding. Mr. and Mrs. George T. Nelson and sons of Springville visited in St. George over Easter with Mrs. Nelson's mother, Mrs. Ethel Simp-kins, Simp-kins, and other relatives. Guest since Saturday of Mrs. Alydia T. Winsor is her daughter, Mrs. Norman Shurtliff of Overton. Over-ton. Pres. Harold S. Snow returned Monday from attending the two-day two-day conference of church officials in Salt Lake City. He was accompanied ac-companied to Salt Lake City last Friday by his mother, Mrs. Annie S. Condie, who underwent optic surgery there Tuesday morning and will remain several days as guest of her son, LeRoy Condie and family. In St. George and Washington, to attend the last Friday afternoon after-noon funeral services for Calvin Hall, were Edward Nelson of Fillmore; Fill-more; Mr. and Mrs. Heber Harrison Harri-son of Newcastle; Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Sandberg of Hurricane, and McKay Neilson of Overton. - Mrs. Neil Adams returned Sunday Sun-day evening from spending the week in Kanab with Mr. Adam's mother, and with her sister, Miss Jean Cottam, and left at noon Wednesday for Camp Barkley, Texas, to visit her husband, who is a member of the Medical Coips in training there. Lee Owens, who went to Salt Lake City Tuesday morning on business, returned home Wednesday. Relatives in St. George were advised ad-vised over the week end of the April 3rd birth in Wyoming of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Bertam Willis. Mrs. Willis is the former Jean Cannon, who taught in the Woodward Wood-ward high school prior to her marriage a year ago. Mrs. Reid Leigh was hostess to the members of the H-n-H club last Friday, Mrs. Walter Jensen and Mrs. McKay Neilson sharing honors. Mrs. Jennie M. Brown entertained enter-tained the Saturday Night Bridge club at her home April 4th. Miss LaVera McArthur came home from Salt Lake City Sunday Sun-day to spend the spring vacation week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James McArthur. Mrs. Lizzie Lamb is visiting relatives in St. George on a brief spring vacation from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ted Simmons came down from Provo over the week end to visit her mother, Mrs. Vera Mitchell and grandfather, J. M. Gates. . Mrs. Kate B. Empey and Mrs. George Jay motored to Salt Lake City and Provo over Easter week end. Mrs. Empey to visit her son, Lynn Empey and family; Mrs. Jay to visit with her husband in Salt Lake City, and in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Don Carlos Schmutz. Mrs. Pearl Eaton, who has spent the winter in St. George with her sister, Mrs. Donald Schmutz, returned to Provo last Saturday, and will go on from there to Vernal. Cannon entertained two tables at Bridge at her home last Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Charlotte Lassister and Mrs. Shirley Shir-ley Hail sharing honors. Mrs. William Mosley arrived Sunday to be with her mother, Mrs. John Easton, during her father's illness. The Mosleys resided re-sided in St. George. Mrs. Arvil Milne won first place honors hon-ors and Mrs. Robert Pickett was awarded second place. Waldo Romney arrived home last Thursday night from Denver, accompanying his mother, Mrs. Roxey S. Romney, on to Los Angeles An-geles Friday, where they visited his sisters, Mrs. Al Davis and Mrs. Cummings Gardner, prior to his departure for military service. He has been attending school in Denver since returning from his mission. Patients at the local hospital over the week include Perry Lang, medical, April 3 to 7; Mrs. Reuben Reu-ben Ence, Ivins, April 4 to 7; Mrs. Robert Hopkins, April 4, and Leo Holt for surgery, April 2. Terry took the late Sunday night bus for Los Angeles, where she will remain with relatives for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Kunz and Hy-rum Hy-rum Kunz motored up from Las Vegas Saturday. Accompanied by Mrs. Nettie K. Morris and Miss Orpha Morris, they were met at the Pintura "Y" station Sunday morning by Mrs. Hyrum Kunz, Miss Evelyn Kunz and Miss Mary Manning, and the group spent the day Eastering at the Toquerville Springs. Mrs. Bud Kunz is remaining re-maining until Friday to visit with her mother, Mrs. Nettie K. Morris. Kenworthy who has been visiting in St. George over the week end returned to Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon shortly before the arrival of her son, Boyden B. Kenworthy from his north central states mission. Due to the illness of his father, Mr. Kenworthy plans to leave Saturday for Los Angeles. He is a guest while here of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Lang. Dr. and Mrs. Walter P. Cottam of Salt Lake City accompanied by Mrs. Edith Cottam of Provo, visited vis-ited in St. George and Santa Clara Wednesday on their way to the Pacific Coast for a short vacation. va-cation. William Brooks, uncle of the child officiated, giving her the name of Goldie Marie in honor of two aunts, deceased Goldie Harris and Miss Marie Higbee. - -if it-Mrs. it-Mrs. Helen Bleak was hostess Wednesday evening to the 3-W club members. Thelma Lamoreaux and Annette Foremasted tied for top honors with consolation going to Idonna Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum B. Empey and Mrs. Empey's mother, Mrs. Mary A. Harridance, went to Salt Lake City on Friday, April 3rd to visit their son, Donald Empey, who had a three-day leave from the Seventh Medical Battalion, Co. ','C which is located in San Francisco. They returned home on Tuesday. |
