Show B. Kenworthy Arrives Home from Mission Field Wednesday Afternoon Arriving in St. George late Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon from serving 23 months as an L. D. S. missionary in the north central states is Bowden B. Kenworthy, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Kenworthy, now of Los Angeles. Bowden drove a truck west from Detroit. Leaving St. George May 6, 19-10, he was assigned first to Munsey, Ind., where he served for seven months followed by two months in Columbus, Ind., part of the time as M. I. A. president and branch president. From there he was transferred to Detroit to join the L. D. S. male chorus, popular for their many appearances on civic and other weekly programs, both personal and over the radio, the latter including many trips across to Winsor, Ontario, Canada, before restrictions were imposed. Later he was assigned to Akron and Cleveland, Ohio, as the deep base member of the L. D. S. male quartet, whose 16 weeks of singing sing-ing included weekly broadcasts land numerous apperances for various var-ious programs other than regular church programs. Other members of the quartet were Robert Carpenter Carp-enter of Manti; Conway Grant of Bountiful and Melvin Maughan of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. Returning Return-ing to the male chorus for the final month of his mission, Mr. Kenworthy had the privilege of touring Ohio and Indiana, with many interesting engagements. While expressing appreciation for his mission, Mr. Kenworthy says he is happy to be back in St. George again, meeting old friends and seeing spring green and flowers flow-ers after snow and cold. |
