Show Dixie College News The brass quartet and the string quartet of the Dixie college will go on a program tour next Thursday Thurs-day and Friday. Mrs. Ruth Hafen will read the play, "George Washington Slept Here", to the Omega Delta club, college speech fraternity, tonight. D. J. C. Start Work On Opera J. W. McAllister, assisted by Myrtle Henderson, will start work on the action of the opera, "Princess "Prin-cess Ida", next week. The chorus and soloists have been drilling for some time. The opera, a Gilbert and Sullivan Sulli-van production, will be presented early in May. D. J. C. Four Students To Debate Kent Hansen, John Miller, Alpine Al-pine Prince and George Fry were selected by a ballot of the high school debate class as candidates for the honor of being considered as the oustanding high school debater de-bater of the college year. These four will debate before Judge LeRoy Cox in the near future. One will be named to receive the Cox Award for efficient ef-ficient debating. Mr. and Mrs. Cox give a medal each year to the outstanding high school debater, also to the outstanding out-standing college debater. The awards will be presented on Honor Day, early in May. |
