Show LaYERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter Miss Fae Sanders spent a few days in Hatch, Utah last week. She went up for Senior graduation gradua-tion exercises and stayed with a friend, Dorth Fallis. Miss Fallis returned with her and spent a few days here in LaVerkin. The LaVerkin Gleaner girls are sponsoring a Barn Dance her? this Friday. Eats will be served after the dance. The Scouts and Junior girls of Mutual spent an evening down at Berry Springs. Games and sports made up the entertainment after which, there was a weiner r?ast. Everyone present had a good time. While mowing hay in his field the other day Brigham Hardy's horse stepped into a soft spot in the earth which turned out to be a sink hole. The hole was so deep that a wrecker had to be summoned to get the horse out. Miss Afton Stratton went down to Mesquite, Nev. for the Virgin Valley graduation. She also visited visit-ed a few days with Miss Clareen Rcber of Mesquite. Mr. and Mrs. Lorin D. Squire received a telephone call from their son, Don Squire, who has been in the Infantry in the Philippine Phil-ippine area, saying that he was in the hospital in San Francisco, California. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Stevens and fanvly and Chancy Hardy attended the Helldorado at Las Vegas over the week end. The berries in LaVerkin are ripening fast and a pretty good crop is expected. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hardy and family and Vonda Hardy spent Friday through Monday at Mesquite, Nev. visiting with Mrs. Hardy's mother, Mrs. Parley Lea-vitt. Lea-vitt. Other members of the family fam-ily were also there, including Mrs. Dela Weber and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hafen and family, and Mrs. Mary Riley. A farewell dinner was held in honor of SM 2c Edward Leavitt, who was j reporting again for duty with the Navy after a visit home. On returning re-turning home, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy were accompanied' by Mrs. Walter Webea and family and Gerald and George Leavitt, brothers broth-ers of Mrs. Hardy, who are here for a short visit. |
