Lytic and daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Heaton of Moccassin, Ariz., returned Sunday Sun-day from attending the Friday funeral services of Pres. Ileber J. Grant, who was a relative. Mrs. Heaton returned to Moccassin on Monday with her husband. Mrs. James S. Bune left recently re-cently for Stockton. Calif., where she has effice employment at the army air base. She is the former Glenna Pickett and has been' visiting for several weeks witln her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pickett. Her husband is overseas! with the Army Air forces. Mrs. Leo G. Smith spent Monday Mon-day and Tuesday in Provo on business. Cpl. and Mrs. Howard Mayhew j arrived last Thursday from Walla Walla. Wash, to visit for a week with Mrs. Mayhew's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Huntsman and family, and with Cpl. Mayhew's grandfather, Levi C. White. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Huntsman and baby of Provo are also spending the week with relatives in St. George. Miss Norma Higley arrived on Tuesday from Grantsville, for an extended visit with friends. She is guest of Miss Fay Prisbrey. The St. George stake Relief Society board honored Mrs. C. C. Wallace with a farewell party Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and their son, Leon, left this (Thursday) morning for an extended stay in Salt Lake City in the interest of Leon's health. Mrs. Wallace has been employed as case worker at the Welfare office for several years, and was a member of the stake Relief Society board thepast two years. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Prisbrey arrived Monday from Burbank, Calif., where he has been employed employ-ed for the past four years. Mrs. Prisbrey plans to remain in St. George and Mrs. Prisbrey will leave shortly for military induction. induc-tion. LI. and Mrs. James Brearton arrived last week from visiting relatives in Illinois, and attended the funeral services for Mrs. Brearton's mother, Mrs. Charles A. Madsen. Mrs Brearton, who was recently released from WAC service at Camp Lee, Va., will remain for the duration, Lt. Brearton has gone to Camp Beal, Calif, for his next assignment. Mrs. Verdell Lamb and three children arrived Sunday from Chico, Calif, to spend a month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George II. Lytic. Also visiting the Lytles this week is another daughter, Mrs. LaVoy Fsplin and two children from Kanab. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miles are visiting in St. George at the h.ime of Mr. Miles' mother, Mrs. Helen F. Miles. Mrs. Roma Rcbcr entertained a large group of relatives and friends at her home Monday evening eve-ning honoring her brother. Pvt. Elmer Larson, who returned Tuesday Tues-day to Camp Woltcrs, Texas, after a ten-day visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martie Larson and family. Guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Adams are Mr. and Mrs. Angus Cornia and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Homer of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Wallis were advised by phone this (Thursday) morning of the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blood at Grantsville. Mrs. Blood is their daughter, the former Ida Wallis. Mrs. Harold W. Ott has returned return-ed to her home in Glenn Ellen, 111. after visiting for two weeks with relatives in St. George and Hurricane. Mrs. Alma McGregor, who has been recuperating in the local hospital for several weeks, returned re-turned to her home in Provo last Thursday. Mrs. E. Penn Smith and son, Ensign John Miller arrived Wednesday Wed-nesday from Salt Lake City to visit a few days before John returns re-turns to his assignment at San Diego. Mrs. Roy Lyle and small son of Punxsutawney, Pa. are here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Granville Fullerton. She expects ex-pects to be here about six weeks. Miss Carol Sullivan and Miss Beulah Blake left last week end for Southern California where Miss Sullivan expects to reside at least for the summer and Miss Blake is visiting relatives in Ventura. Miss Alene Cannon left this (Thursday) morning for Santa-quin Santa-quin tc visit for a week with her sisters, Mrs. Lynn Crook and Mrs. Justin Lamb. Mrs. Clarence Snow arrived last Fnday from Marysvale to visit with her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo A. Snow and family. She has been teaching school at Marysvale the past year. Mrs. Lerin Porter took the late bus Tuesday evening for San Francisco, where she will visit with her husband, who has a brief shore leave. Mrs. Raymond Cannon entertained enter-tained her piano students and their mothers at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Music numbers were played by each student and light refreshments were served. |
