Show Woodward Play Nearly Ready for Presentation Going into their final week ol f rehearsals is the Woodward high school cast who are preparing the rollicking comedy, "June Mad", for its February 25th presentation. This play, byRyerson and Clem-, Clem-, ents, is a suitable vehicle for high schools, colleges or universities, and was successfully presented last spring by the University of Utah. "It is a decidedly interesting interest-ing comedy of the doings of modern-day youth", says the Woodward- high school coach, Miss Adelia Hall, who feels her cast will offer the audiences an evening eve-ning of genuine entertainment. More than 75 high school boys and girls tried out for the parts in this play and the judges which included B. Glenn Smith. Mrs. Ray Schmutz. had a genuine problem prob-lem of culling the group down to the thirteen boys and girls who make up the cast. Appearing in the performance are Gai Graff as Penney; Bobbie Morris, as Chuck; Paul Thompson, Dr. Wood; Corrine Esplin, Mrs. Wood; Misha Bentley, Julia Harris; Har-ris; E 1 w y n Cameron, Merwyn Roberts; Vernon Short, Roger Van Vleck; Billy Cannon, Mr. Harris; Esther Judd, Milly Lou; Cecille Johnson, Effie; John Murdock; Elmer Tuttle; Beverely Moody, Shirley; Marion Bentley, Ralph. Assisting Miss Hall with the production are Antonette Pendleton, Pendle-ton, as prompter; Frank Church, stage manager; Josephine Jones and Sybil Anderson in charge of stage properties and Melvin Terry with sound effects. The play will be presented on the Woodward high school stage Wednesday, Feb. 25th at 8 p.m. Tickets will be on sale early next week. |
