Show Everard Cox Visits Parents Here This Week Arriving with the early Sunday morning bus for a short visit with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Cox, was their son, Everard, who has been training for the Navy Air Corps in Oakland, Calif., for the past several weeks. As part of the last lap of his course, Everard Ev-erard and three companions had flown a plane to Salt Lake City last week, where they visited briefly, Everard being joined by his sister from Logan. Returning Sunday by bus from Salt Lake City he was to have gone on with his three companions as far as Las Vegas in their car. They, however, had automobile trouble at Dry Creek, on U. S. 91, damaging their machine, but joined him here Tuesday and the three took the 3:30 Burlington bus for Las Vegas, from where they will fly to Dallas, Texas, to receive their assignments. Everard's family and friends noted his increase in physical huskiness over his period of training train-ing and he expressed the highest praise for this opportunity to train for the Navy air corps. He paid high tribute to the men and boys connected with this work, saying that they are like a group of close brothers interested in the welfare of each other under every condition, willing an anxious to serve their country and thrilled with their opportunity in handling these giant birds of the air. |
