Show TOQUERVILLE Mrs. Rowena V. Slack Mrs. Helen Denton Reporters The Toquerville P.-T. A. held their first meeting of the 1943-44 season last Monday evening. The program pro-gram included community singing, singing by the school children, an address on "Safety" by Sheriff Antone B. Prince and one on "Books", by Mrs. Roxey S. Rom-ney- , Tuesday being open night for the M. I. A. the program provided honored parents of boys in the service. Letters from some of the boys were read and talks were given by the parents, including interesting incidents. Dancing and refreshments concluded the evening's eve-ning's entertainment. On Thanksgiving night a budget dance was held in the recreation hall. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Parkinson and family returned last Saturday from Beaver where they spent Thanksgiving with relatives. Mrs. Leanora Worthen spent the week end with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slack. Ward conference was held last Sunday with Elmer Graff, stake president and LaFell Iverson and Ivan Barrett, counselors, in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slack spent Thanksgiving in Cedar City with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Higbee and Mrs. Lila Hull of Los Angeles are visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Higbee. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Adams and daughters, Helen and Darlene, spent Thanksgiving in Kanab. Mrs. Clara Smith and son, Virgil, left Friday morning for Provo on account of the serious illness of her daughter, Mrs. Reta Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Empey and children of St. George were Thanksgiving guests at the 'home of Mrs. Empey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Bringhurst. Mrs. Laura Pulsipher of St. George spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs.' N. L. Naegle. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Naegle of Cedar City visited relatives and friends in Toquerville Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ervil Sanders and children spent Thanksgiving at the home of Mrs. Sanders' mother, Mrs. Belle Bringhurst. Ben Bringhurst, who is employed em-ployed in Cedar City, spent Thanksgiving with his family. Sgt. Martin C. Jackson visited in Toquerville. His is guarding Japanese prisoners at the camp near Phoenix. A. P. Spilsbury spent Monday in St. George on business. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew' Olds and family . spent Thanksgiving Day in Cedar City with Mr. and Mrs. Brent Bower. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Barton of St. George visited their friends in Toquerville over Thanksgiving. |
