Moms returned i Tuesday morning from San Francisco, Fran-cisco, where she had a short visit with her son, Richard Morris, Pharmacist 2c, prior to his leaving leav-ing for overseas duty. She was joined on the trip by her son's wife, the former LaRue Kunz of Cedar City, who remained for the present pres-ent in San Francisco. Mis.s Tillie Winsor returned last Sunday from Salt Lake City and Provo where she attended educational educa-tional conferences. She spent Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Dalton and sons in Provo. Mrs. Idaho Terrill and small son, Arnold, arrived last Saturday from Salt Lake City for an extended ex-tended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Wallis. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson for Thanksgiving were Mr. and Mrs. Lavoid 'Leayitt of Hawthorne, Nev. Mrs. Leavitt is their daughter. Mrs. Rogers Hardy is here from Boulder City spending the week visiting and transacting business. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hogan and son Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Hafen and Mrs. Jed M. Terry left early Sunday morning for Panaca to attend the funeral of Mrs. Minnie Edwards. The group returned re-turned home the same evening. Miss Jean Cottam was home Thursday over Sunday from Kanab, where she is teaching. Mr. and Mrs. Leo G. Smith entertained the St. George post office emDlovees at an informal dinner at their home last Friday evening. Miss Larson is now a draftsman at Hill Field. This is her first visit home in several sev-eral months. Mrs. Roxa J. Terry returned to her home here after spending two weeks with her sister, Mrs. I Minnie Edwards of Panaca, who had been seriously ill the past month. Mrs. Edwards died Thursday, Thurs-day, the funeral being held in Panaca on Sunday. Mrs. Charles F. Hansen returned re-turned early last week from Los Angeles where she visited with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joy Peterson and children. child-ren. Mr. Hansen wasxhome over the Thanksgiving holidays from Littlefield where he is teaching school. Mrs. Milo Kemp left Wednesday morning for Salt Lake City to visit with relatives for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fawcett have returned from Oakland, Calif., where they have spent several sev-eral months. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Orahood returned Monday from spending Thanksgiving week end with relatives rela-tives in Salt Lake City and in Burley, Ida. Their niece, Lois Orahood returned with them for an indefinite visit. S? Mrs. Orson Hall returned early Wednesday morning from spending spend-ing three weeks in San Francisco with her daughter, Ensign Adelia Hall. Enroute home she visited in Los Angeles with other relatives rela-tives and friends. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Larkin over Thanksgiving were Mrs. Larkin's sisters, Mrs. Peterson Peter-son of Ogden, and Mrs. S. K. Crockett and baby of Willard. and Mr. Larkin's brother, Conrad Con-rad of Ogden. Mrs. Crockett and baby will remain with Mrs. Larkin Lar-kin for the winter. Mr. Larkin was up from Las Vegas over Thanksgiving. Mrs. C. Leland Dalley w a s hostess last Friday afternoon to the Vesta club. Mrs. Gilbert Hvatt gave the book review. Several St. George missionaries attended the cottage meeting and social held in Leeds Wednesday evening. Mrs. Frances L. Frye arrived last Thursday from Ely to spend a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gardner. Leonard Winder is being treated in the local hospital for injuries received on Thanksgiving Day. Miss Jane Pace arrived Sunday from San Francisco for an indefinite in-definite visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Pace. .V. JJ- --W --W If Ellis J. Pickett, W. O. Bentley, Henry Pickett and Val McArthur left this (Thursday) morning for Salt Lake City on business. TC W 'if Dan Bullets, Indian from the Shevwit Indian reservation on the Santa Clara, is reported improving in the local hospital where he was taken Nov. 25 th with a broken leg. Dan was one of the ropers at the Santa Clara Rodeo. He caught 'his calf, and when he jumped from his horse to tie it down, he broke his right leg above the ankle. Men at the Rodeo subscribed a purse of $80 for the boy. |
