Show Nevada Towns Give Enthusiastic Backing To Enterprise-Crestline Road Heads French Defense l ' i , . ' X 1 i ; Gen. Marie Gustave Camelin is in supreme command of all French forces in the war with Germany, including in-cluding land, sea and air. Under Gamelin's orders, 31,000 school children were sent to the provinces, and further evacuation orders were rigidly enforced. Road Commissions of Utah-Nevada Utah-Nevada To Be Told Of Unity Of All Groups That the towns of Panaca, Pioche, , Caliente and Crestline are enthusiastically en-thusiastically behind the move to have the connecting road between that section and Utah connect with the road through Enterprise, was the word brought back here-following here-following a meeting in Pioche on last Saturday night. Support of the road was also promised by a Cedar City delegation provided nothing was done to interfere with the spending of $50,000 that has been allocated for the road from Cedar to Modena. A discussion of the various-phases various-phases connected with this road was led by Assemblyman Henry Colman with Senator James A, Wadsworth and other leading citizens of that section lending their support. Those from Nevada who spoke included J. Less Denton, Den-ton, Caliente; Dan J. Reynolds, Panaca; Attorney Frank Wadsworth, Wads-worth, Commissioner Lane, William Wil-liam H. Pitts, and Joe Martin of Pioche, also William Getker of Crestline and Editors E. L. Noris, Pioche and Philip J. Dolan, of Caliente. The discussion was opened by Commissioner N. R. Frei, who explained ex-plained what had been done to promote the road and stated that if all factions involved would get behind the road, he felt sure that enough pressure could be brought to bear that both the state of Utah and Nevada would give this road an official okeh and the necessary work would be done to get it in as a Federal Aid road. Those representing Cedar City were then asked to state their side of the question with Walter Lunt and Fred Warner responding. respond-ing. These men assured the meeting meet-ing that Cedar had no objection to the road going through Enterprise, Enter-prise, Crestline and Panaca, so long as it didn't interfere with their getting the $50,000 that had been promised them for the Cedar-Modena road. Letters from both state road (Continued on page seven) Enterprise Road (Continued from first page) commissions brought out the fact that the commissions were under the impression that there was a controversy as to where the road should go and it was because of this that a resolution was presented pre-sented ' and passed which was to be sent to both commissions to inform them that this was not the case. The upshot of the meeting meet-ing was that all present agreed to work for the Enterprise-Crest-line road and it was decided that Nevada towns would hold a meeting meet-ing in the near future to see what could be done to get action in their state. A meeting was also decided on to be held at Enterprise Enter-prise within the next 30 days. This meeting to be called by the Enterprise Civic organization.
