Show St. George Camp Boys Attend 10-Day School In Kingman, Ariz. Enrollees Irvin Becraft, Benjamin Benja-min Bishop, Burly Combs, Marvin Henderson, William Pryse, John Sizemore and Junior Foremen William Wil-liam Wright and Jay Lester, members mem-bers of the range survey crew have returned, following attendance at a 10-day school conducted by the Department of Grazing at Kingman, King-man, Ariz. The entire school was given over to an intensive study of plant identification and other range survey problems. The softball game, postponed from Anniversary Day to the following fol-lowing Saturday proved to be a thriller. The end of the specified seven innings found the teams deadlocked at 4 all. The end came in the ninth when the Arizona Cubs put over the winning score. Show tickets were given to the winners. Enrollees Mike Sabrin and Clayton Clay-ton Curtis have completed correspondence cor-respondence courses in arithmetic and auto mechanics during the past week. Lieut. H. V. Douglas, dental reserve, re-serve, has been at the camp during dur-ing the past week doing necessary dental work for the enrolled personnel. per-sonnel. A large portion of the camp area has been covered with a heavy coat of gravel during the past week. It is hoped that this will reduce the dust storms caused by the shifting of the red sands. The unusual amount of interest created by the outdoor map has led the camp authorities to a decision de-cision to make it a permanent feature. fea-ture. Improvements will be made and additional features incorporated incorporat-ed as opportunity permits. This map is open for inspection by the public at any time. Foreman Walter Fry is spending a month's sick leave in Tucson, Ariz, recuperating from his recent illness. The "Cat Crew" has spent the past week grading and repairing portions of the Wolf Hole road, which was damaged by the spring rains and snows. |
