Show Church Welfare Board Holds First Meet In Bishop's Storehouse In connection with the re-opening of the St. George Temple Tuesday, Tues-day, a" meeting of the regional welfare workers of this district took place at 2 p. m., at the recently re-cently completed Bishop's storehouse. store-house. A good representation from each of the seven stakes was reported. There was a general business meeting at which assistant district dist-rict director Claudius Hirschi of Zion Park stake took charge under un-der direction of Pres. Wm. R. Palmer of Parowan stake. Budget reports were made by the various leaders of each stake. Reports were given of the fruit, meat, vegetables and other products and supplies accumulated, preserved and stored to date, along with estimates of the additional canning cann-ing projects, food and clothing plans for the balance of the season. sea-son. Following this meeting the nearly 75 who were present inspected in-spected the new St. George stake building from basement to garret, expressing appreciation for the efforts ef-forts made in this accomplishment, accomplish-ment, and for the canning done this season. The St. George stake welfare board served a feast of melons, grapes and almonds to the entire en-tire group of visitors at the welfare wel-fare building. Officers who attended at-tended report this as one of the most satisfactory meetings yet held in this district. |
