A public entertainment was riven in honor of John Reed Lauritzen's birthday which occur-erl occur-erl on Julv 22. George H. Black succeds Mrs. Josephine Bartwell as clerk in the local store. John T. Spencer, proprietor of the store made a business trip to Cedar on Wednes- daCharles C. Cox and family have returned from Mesa where they have resided for the past four months. , Mr and Mrs. Carl T. Olds and daughter, Ramona, who has been working at Trumbull spent the week-end here with Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Colvin. Mr and Mrs. Dean and family of Los Angeles spent the 24th here with Mr. and Mrs. Melvm E. Johnson. , Commeoration of the Advent of the Pioneers was celebrated here julv 24th by a program of songs, orations, readings and instrumental instrument-al selections at 10:30 A.M. A community com-munity dinner was served to one hundred persons at 1:30 and sports directed in the afternoon by Mrs. Genevieve Stubbs. the mam feature fea-ture being a basket ball game b the girl's club.
