Show 1 1 George Needs Anti-Peddler Law ' In returning from the State Press association meeting : Provo last Sunday, we decided to take Highway 89 and acquainted with some of the towns and counties of ' state. One of the things that was brought to our attention i that a number of the towns that had signs at the city its warning that solicitors or agents could not peddle ir fake wares to the home owners and business houses the city. Milford recently passed such a law and the Milford s pointed out that "Milford residents will no longer subjected to the persistent solicitation of this or that Her or solicitor because Milford now has an ordinance prohibits this nusiance." Under this law, which was strenuously urged by the lord paper, citizens of that community will be protected 31 the practice of uninvited persons going in and upon J ate residences to solicit, peddle or in any other way mpt to load-up citizens with the usual trash and rubish 1 such people have to offer. Such a law is a protection to local people. It is pro-:';n pro-:';n to local merchants who have to carry the burden Nation, donations and community work. It is fair in 7 respect and should be passed by this city. As a test f all of the extras that local merchants give you . ne article sold against a similar one sold by local ;chints, and you will find that the local product has a '. ' than even break. Then add all of the other services , ;I 'oral business men render and you will find it all in llrf the local merchant. |
