Show Public Cautioned In Use Of Fire On Forest During Summer A large number of people will visit the Dixie National Forest during the coming holiday period and through the summer months, for recreational purposes. There has been a substantial increase in the use of the public camping grounds so far this year over past years, Forest Supervisor Blaine Betenson said. The recreational facilities on the Forest have been further improved for the convenience and enjoyment of the public. All people who visit the Forest are cautioned to be very careful in the use of fire, and are urged to observe the following simple rules: (1) Put out out every lighted match, cigarette, cigar or pipe ashes before throwing it away. (2) Completely extinguish camp fires with water or mineral soil, before leaving. (3) Leave a clean camp and a clean record for those who come after you. (4) Do not cut or injure living trees. (5) If possible, put out all fires discovei-ed, and report immediately im-mediately to the nearest Forest Ranger or the Supervisor's office at Cedar City. The cooperation of the general public in preventing forest fires, and preventing damage to the trees and improvements on the camping grounds will be appreciated, appreciat-ed, the Forest Supervisor said. |
