Show ijurch Beautification Program '' In this issue there is an announcement by the L.D.S. 13 - jrch that the Church is starting on a beautification pro- :m ;n connection with Church buildings and grounds, i This comes as welcome news to us for we have always 7 yt that the Church building and grounds here should i f brought to a higher standard. This is the first place it thetraveling public comes in touch with the Mormons j the state of Utah. They form their opinion of the 'jrch, its people and the state in general by their first - ression. For this reason we have felt that the Church dings and grounds and the individual homes and grounds ) f this city should be brought to a higher standard of - utification. California tourists coming through here compare this , and its buildings with their own. They look at the jrch property here, and to them it is representative of :Church and the Mormons, and they judge accordingly. ile it is harder to keep our grounds and buildings looking : than it is most places, still it should be worth that ra effort for the fine returns that it should bring. A considerable amount of good work was done this :;n? by Church, County, Civic organizations and initials in-itials and with the added impetus given by the L.D.S. jrch leaders we should be able to show a greatly im- :ved and beautified city. |
