Show ORGANIZATION MAKES PLANS FOE NEW YEAR First Annual Meeting Held in St. George Saturday; Directors Elected for Year and Manager's Report Read The first annual meeting of stockholders of the Dixie Cooperative Coopera-tive Produce Association was held in the college auditorum Saturday, December 7, at 10 o'clock. Of the fifty in attendance 37 were members mem-bers of the association. The meeting meet-ing was presided over by President Amos N. Workman. The by-laws of the organization were discussed discuss-ed and formally adopted. Manager Orval Hafen presented the annual report which was unanimously un-animously accepted. The following board of directors direc-tors was elected for the ensuing year: Vivian J. Frei, Santa Clara. Claud Hirschi, Hurricane. W. H. Manning, Toquerville. Morris Wlilson, Jr., La Verkin. W. W. McArthur, St. George. Andrew Sproul, Washington. Wm. Lund, Enterprise. A vote of appreciation was ex- .... tended the outgoing board of directors di-rectors which consisted of the following members: Amos Workman, president, Hurricane. Hur-ricane. Francis J. Bowler, vice-president, Gunlock. Edw. R. Frei, Santa Clara. Arthur D. Cox, Rockville. W. C. Staheli, Enterprise, Henry W. Gubler, La Verkin. Israel Neilson, Jr., Washington. Brief remarks were made by John M. Macfarlane, president of the Utah Fruit and Vegetable Growers' association, encouraging the local organization in its activities. ac-tivities. A unanimous vote of apprecl-"- ation was extended the manager for his efficient services the past year. The organization proposes to ship early bunch vegetables in the spring, onions and fruit in the summer, beans, molasses and potatoes po-tatoes in the fall. "Shipments to Salt Lake will be in carload lots while regular schedules for truck lines to Ely and Las Vegas and the Utah parks will be establish-' establish-' ed and maintained. |
