Show SIGNING STATE HIGHWAY SOUTH A crew from the State Highway Department, De-partment, engaged in signing the State Highway from the Idaho state line to the Arizona state line, reached St. George yesterday. The system, which conforms with the national road system sys-tem and the Bureau of Standards of Washington D. C, is being placed in effect. This highway will be known as "Highway 91," and all other road markers mar-kers along the route are being removed remov-ed from the highway. The work of placing the new signs has been completed com-pleted as far as St. George. In addition addi-tion to the road markets bearing the numerals "91," placed ZV feet above road elevation, they are also placing caution signs at the same height to make them visible for night driving. The crew, we are informed, have instruction in-struction to remove all advertising signs from along the highway. All bill-boards must go, is the edijjt of the highway commission. They are removing re-moving the smaller advertising signs, and notifying owners of the more pretentious pre-tentious ones, to remove same. If these are not removed, another crew will follow in a few weeks for the purpose pur-pose of destroying these signs. |
