Show ROCKVILLE Rockville, Feb. 6 Funeral services were held in the ward meeting house on the 2nd of February for David Lemmon who died of heart failure January 30th. Bishop Philetus Jones presided. The music was furnished by the Rockville and Springdale choirs the first number being the selection, 'Nearer My God To Thee." Invocation Invoca-tion was by Moses Gifford of Spring-dale. Spring-dale. The selection "O My Father" was then sung. Freeborn Gifford and Bishop Daniel Crawford of Springdale, David Hirschi of Hurricane, Oscar De-Mill De-Mill and Bishop Philetus Jones were the speakers. All bore testimony of the faithfulness and honesty of the deceased, the tribute paid by David Hirschi being especially striking. The closing selection by the choir was "Not Now But in The Coming Years." Benediction by Samuel Crawford of Springdale. The body was interred in the Springdale cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Arthur D. Cox. David Lemmon was the adopted son of James and Louisa Lemmon, his own parents being unknown. He was married mar-ried on the 15th of October 1879 to Caroline Josephine Neilson who survives sur-vives him. He is also survived by the following sons and daughters: David, Jr., of Springdale; George and Clarence Clar-ence of Rockville; James of Elko, Nev.; Mrs. Rose Earle of Wyoming and Mrs. Edith Garner of Ogden. Sixteen grandchildren also survive. Brother Lemmon was believed to be about 75 years old. He was a very zealous Latter-day Saint, having the gift of healing heal-ing to a marked degree. His record as a ward teacher was excellent, and he never failed to respond when a call was made upon him. In the passing of Brother Lemmon, a worthy man has gone to his reward and he will be sadly missed by his family, the sympa- thy of the community was shown by the large gathering who attended his funeral and by the numerous floral tributes. Raynol the small son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jennings has been very critically ill with scarlet fever. He is slightly improved but is not yet out of danger. ( Guy DeMill, John Terry and Glenn Graff attended the ball game at Hurricane Hur-ricane Friday. A rock weighing several ton crashed down into the road below Duncan and blockaded the road Sunday afternoon. The road supervisor and a force of men are working to clear the road. Lucille the little daughter of Mi-, and Mrs. Guy DeMill has been quite sick with tonsilitis, and is improving slowly. Mrs. Edith Gamer of Ogden spent the past w-eek here visiting her mother Mrs. Caroline Lemmon. Mrs. Levi DeMill has been ill for the past two weeks. Dr. Aiken of Hurricane Hurri-cane was in attendance Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dalton made a trip to Cedar City Monday. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Roache De-Mill De-Mill at Salt Lake City Feb. 2nd a son, all concerned doing nicely. |
