Show PEACH EXCURSION j DATE POSTPONED' Learning that the peach season at Palisade, Colo., was about two weeks later this year than usual, officials of the Utah state agricultural extension ex-tension service have made arrangements arrange-ments to postpone the excursion for Utah peach growers from August 8, 9 and 10 to August 22, 23 and 24, according to W. W. Owens, county agent leader. The hange in dates is announced by Mr. Owens after obtaining the consent of W. H. Lauck, county agent ag-ent for the Palisade district, and officials of the Denver & Rio Grande railroad company. Indications 'point to a heavy crop in Colorado this year and the new date for the excursion will come during the harvesting season and before the crop is ready in Utah. Railroad officials will still offer their original low rate of $9.50 for the round trip with trains leaving Ogden at 6 a. m. Thursday, August 22, arriving in Grand Junction at 6 p. m. that day; also, another train leaving Ogden at 5:20 p. m. August Au-gust 22, arriving at Grand Junction at 4:25 a. m. August 23. The tour of the peach section will be made August 23. Director j William Peterson plans to accompany the peach growers and will explain the geological formations en route. |
