Show I ED HARPER INJURED ' IN CAR ACCIDENT Ed Harper received serious scalr. wounds Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock when his car went off the highway between Middleton and Washington. He was returning from jNew Harmony with his four children, chil-dren, Ross, Bernice, Robert and Kenneth, and driving slowly when the steering mechanism of his machine, ma-chine, an old-style Ford, suddenly went out of commission, and before he could bring the car to a stop it had gone off the grade. Harper's head was cut when he struck the windshield, and two children, chil-dren, Ross and Bernice, received only minor cuts and bruises, having been shielded to a great extent by their father. Passing motorists found Harper with blood streaming down his face, extricating his children from the I car. He was rushed to the hospital where 15 stitches were required to close the cut. |
