Show MESQUITE MAN CRUSHEDTO DEATH . Ira Leavitt Died from Injuries While Being Rushed to St. George for Medical Aid Crushed between two cars on the highway at Mesquite Thursday night, Ira Leavitt received injuries which caused his death a short time later while being rushed to the St. George hospital in an attempt to save his life. Mr. Leavitt was riding on the running run-ning board of a car driven by Bishop W. A. Abbott, when the accident occurred. oc-curred. The machine was side-swiped by an orange truck from California. Cali-fornia. Leavitt was torn from the car and, was badly bruised and mangled. man-gled. According to information, the truck did not stop to render assistance. assist-ance. The injured man was placed in Bishop Abbot's machine and they started for St. George. He died at a point a short distance above the Indian farm. The body was taken to Mesquite where funeral services were held. Ira Leavitt was the son of Dudley Leavitt of Mesquite and was well , known in St. George.
