Show jBUNKERVUXE, NEV. I Mrs. Leon Bowman of Las ! Angeles, California is here visiting visit-ing her mother, Mrs. Lena Leavitt. Lea-vitt. The High School band gave a concert on the school lawn last Sunday afternoon and another is scheduled for next Sunday at the same time. The CCC camp from Overton is moving to the mountains near here a place called Cabin Spring. They expect to build a good road from here to the mountain and one to the top of the mountain. Those w-ho attended conference in Salt Lake City were. S. P. Fish Nathan Abbott, Ja-s. S. Abbott, Ab-bott, Gus Pendleton, Mr. and Mts. Warren Hardy and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hafen, the latter remained to visit with Mrs. Hafen's parents. Wm. Wittwer of Logandale spent Sunday here, he reports his hay cut and expects to have 50 ton bailed this week. The high school band, under the direction of Mr. Martin, left for Price, Utah, April 17, to attend the state contest which is being held there this week. They expect to be gone five days, the high school will be closed during their absence, as the band included most of the students. stud-ents. Principal S. P. Fish and Supb. Mineer will accompany them. The Virgin High track team acompanied by their coach, Reed Blake, will attend a meet at Las Vegas, May 5. Mr. Blake will also take his junior hight team to a meet at Las Vegas, Saturday, April 21st. Excitement was caused last Wednesday when a car, driven by Dean Harmon, overturned while turning the corner near the Valley Supply store. Mr. Harmon and another boy vre pinned underneath the car. A large crowd soon gathered, as the crash was heard by all the neighbors. The young men were charged with drunken drivin'g and were fined $20.00. |
