Sunday, May 1 has been set as the day for the fishing season ! to open in Washington County. Other counties, where the fishing waters are at a higher level, will not open until June 15 and some even later. The Washington County Fish and Game Association, with Bryan Bry-an Lund as president, is making a strenuous effort to obtain a more equitable distribution cf fish, and money for salaries to maintain the number of men that this district is entitled to because be-cause of its large sale o-f licenses. According to Mr. Lund the records show that Washington County is among the leaders in the number of licenses sold and revenue taken in. The county also has an enviable record on the small cost to the state in the selling of these licenses, and yet it is far down the list in the number of fish and amount of money received from the state. |
