Show HONOR DAY OS GIVEN Wi DEIIIOIL Scholarships, Sweaters and Medals Presented to Students Stu-dents for Achievements in Extra Curricular Activities The first number of the Dixie College commencement exercises, the honor day program, was given in the auditorium at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. The av;ards were presented in the various departments de-partments by girls representing the Greek goddesses, Diana and Athena. Ath-ena. The program was attended by a number of visitors and patrons pat-rons cf the school, and was enjoyed en-joyed by all. The program was as follows: Prayer, John T. Woodbury, Jr. Miss LoRen Watson as Diana opened the program, the stage being be-ing set as a broadcasting station. Coach Leland Hafen and his athletes and Miss Mary Lee and her girls track team were called into line for the first presentations presenta-tions w:hile the assembly sang the Dixie College Song, with Prof. E.arl J. Bleak and his band accompanying. accompany-ing. Tne Dixie Pep girls in costume sang the Dixie cheer song after which the following awards were presented by Miss Watson: College basketball squad Melvin Fawcett, captain, (Ail-star Junior college guard, 1930);Rulon Pectol, Kenneth Cox, George Snow, Karl Stratton, Preston Hafen, Reed Wittwer and Reed Graff. Award: Official block D on blue sweaters.
