Show ROCKVILLE Rockville, July 7. The 4th was celebrated here Monday. A program pro-gram was given in the forenoon, a children's dance and athletic sports in the afternoon. In the evening the majority of the people went to Springdale to the open air dance. Cleve LeBaron of Hurricane has just finished painting the exterior of Daniel Hirschi's home. It has made a great improvement in the appearance appear-ance of the place. If prohibition is a law Washington county doesn't seem to know it. The 4th was the wettest here in 20 years and it didn't come from the clouds either. Mrs. Boyd Dennett and son Wood-row Wood-row of St. George joined Mr. Dennett here last week and will spend the remainder re-mainder of the summer here visiting. visit-ing. Mrs. Maggie Hastings of Mesa, Ariz., is here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dennett. This is Mrs. Hastings first visit in 13 years. ' Milo, Dewey, Alma and Heber Hirschi came in from the Big Plain last Saturday. They returned to their work Monday. Miss Belle Ballard of Hurricane was a visitor here Monday. Her many friends here were glad to see her again. Bishop and Mrs. Sylvester Earl and family of Virgin spent the 4th here with their daughter, Mrs. Guy DeMille. Edwin and Richard DeMill, Julius and Ira Cox and John Terry are all employed at the lodge in Zion park. Mrs. Hinton of Hurricane was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Allen yesterday. Roswell DeMill and daughter, Miss Fae, spent Saturday in Hurricane Hurri-cane on business. Glen and Riley Hirschi came home from the sheep herd to spend the Fourth. Harvey Jackson of Toquerville was a business visitor here today. Irving Dalton is home again after an absence of some months. Miss Lucile Worthen spent the day here from Zion canyon. |
