Show COYS ILAVE NARROW ESCAPE FROM DEATH BY ELECTRICITY Beaver, June 22. While returning return-ing from a fishing trip up Beaver canyon Sunday afternoon, three boys, 14 and 15 years old, were nearly electrocuted elec-trocuted when their steel fishing rods came in contact with a high tension ten-sion wire from the Telluride Power plant. The boys were horse back, two riding rid-ing one animal and the horses sides touching. Both animals were instantly in-stantly killed and the boys thrown into a stream, one boy lighting on his head. He was saved from drowning by one of the injured boys who, while unable to get out of the stream, held the boy's held out of the water for 15 minutes while their cries for help attracted at-tracted the attention of Tom Ward, who was passing. The three boys were badly burned in spots all over their bodies. They are: Ted Thompson, .son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Thopson; Paul Pay, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pay, and Elmo Gillies, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Gillies. Deseret News. Paul has since died. |
