Show FUTURE FARMERS AWARDED PRIZES The Smith-HTughes vocational agriculture students of Hurricane Hurri-cane high school received first prize for their exhibit of fruits and vegetables shown in Hurricane Hurri-cane on Peach days, September 1 and 2. The exhibit represented over fifty varieties of fruits and vegetables and occupied a table nearly five feet wide and 2 5 feet long. Vere Wilson recevied first rprize for the individual exhibit ot watermelons. wa-termelons. His melons averaged over 3 6 pounds and were declared declar-ed by the judge to be the most uniform in size and shape that he had seen displayed. Willard Wilson, another agriculture student, stu-dent, received third prize for his display of watermelons. The boys intend to use their prize money for the purchase of a charter " for the organization known as "Future Farmers of America" and also to assist them in meeting expenses to the state fair in Salt 1-ake City. Upon the return from the fair the chapter will sponsor a fathers' fa-thers' and ons' outing. The date and place of the celebration will be determined later. |
