Show DEMOS ELECT STATE, JUDICIAL CANDIDATES Thomas for Senator Will Oppose Op-pose Reed Smoot ; Blood of Road Commission Nominated Nom-inated for Governorship Dr. Elbert D. Thomas of the University of Utah, and Henry H. Blood, chairman of the state road commission, Saturday were nominated by the Democrats in convention at Ogden to head the thicket this fall. Thomas will oppose Reed H. Smoot, veteran senator, while Blood will run against W. W. Seegmiller for the governorship. Other nominees are as follows: For congress (first district) Abe Murdock. For congress (second district) J. Dill Robinson. For justice supreme court D. W.. Moffit. For secretary of state Milton H. Welling. Fort attorney general Joseph Jos-eph Chez. For state treasurer pharles A. Stain. For state auditor Julius C. Anderson. For superintendent of public instruction C. H. Skidmore. For presidential electors Mrs. C. Clarence Neslen, John F. Welch, Mrs. Frank A. Drury and Mrs. W. S. Greenwood. Tuesday at Nephi the Democrats Demo-crats of the Fifth district picked pick-ed their candidates for district attorney and judge. E. J. Pickett Pick-ett was nominated for district attorney to oppose Claude Baker of Eureka, nominated two weeks ago by the Republicans, and Grove Giles of Fillmore will oppose op-pose LeRoy H. Cox, present judge of the Fifth district. |
