Mrs. Ernest Reber of Santa Clara underwent a very critical goiter operation at the local hospital hos-pital yesterday. She is reported doing very good at this writing. Thomas Cottam returned last week from Brigham City where he spent a week on business. He was accompanied home by Mrs. Cottam Cot-tam who expects to remain here during the summer. Mr. and Mrs. John Stauffer will spend Friday in Cedar City and Lund on business and visiting. Mrs. Dilworth Snow will accompany accom-pany them to Lund where she will take a train for Salt Lake City. - The Misses Alice Nelson, Karma MjcGresr"'- Lntia and My Kelson staged a frolic for a dozen friends on the Sugar Loaf Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. A weenie roast and outdoor games provided merry entertainment. Joseph Baxter of the Scowcroft Company, who is making his headquarters head-quarters at the Arrowhead hotel, is spending this week in Kane county. Mrs. Baxter is also registered reg-istered at the Arrowhead and expects ex-pects to remain in St. George until un-til cold weather is over in the north. A meeting of the Athena club was held at the home of Mrs. Henry Pickett Friday night. Mrs. Ernest Nelson assisted in entertaining. enter-taining. At this meeting a committee com-mittee consisting of Mrs. William Brooks, Mrs. Ernest Nelson and Mrs. H. L. Reid were appointed to secure the cooperation of all the womens clubs in the community commun-ity to assist in the work on the city park. Mrs. Dilworth Snow will leave Friday for Salt Lake City to snend a week. Mr. Snow has been with the Mountain States Telephone Co. in Logan the past month and will meet Mrs. Snow in Salt Lake and will return with her to resume re-sume his work hare for the telephone tele-phone company. J. I. Cunningham of the General Gen-eral Motors Company left this morning for a short business trip to Los Angeles. He was accompanied accom-panied by Henderson Cox who will visit his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Murphy, and the Misses Annie Schlappi, Irene Cox and Mae Jolley. They will return the fore part of next week. |
