Show GUNLOCK Mrs. Mary E. Leavitt just returned re-turned from a three month's trip through parts of Idaho and Millard County. She reports the crops in Idaho Falls and nearby towns in fair condition ,but in Ogden vicinity the crops. are very poor due to the lack of water and the white fly. The drouth was broken Sunday Sun-day afternoon with a good rainstorm, rain-storm, which brought down a flood in the creek and cooled things off quite a bit. Our men folks are busy working work-ing on the pipe line. Things will soon be ready to lay the pipe. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abbott and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leavitt of Mesquite, Nevada were visitors visit-ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wllford Holt Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Bowler returned from Pine Valley where they have been on a vacation. The South Ward Primary officers of-ficers and teachers enjoyed a social so-cial at the home of Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Dryner last' Thursday evening even-ing following their regular business busi-ness meeting. Miss Anne Macfarlane left last Wednesday night for Cedar City to spend the remainder of the summer with relatives. Dean, the nine year old son of Mrs. Annie Webb had the misfortune to break his left foot on Friday when he fell from the granary roof at the Ken Snow home. A shower was given in honor of Mrs. Dan McBride at the home of MJss Phyllis Lund on Saturday evening1: Mrs. Vera Karrlgan and daughter, daugh-ter, Miss Berneice Moody returned return-ed Sunday frorp Los Angeles where they spent a month visit ing. Misses Ella Bentley, Shirley Bentley and Marion Lee loft Monday for Salt Lake City to spend their vacations. Mrs. Clarence Webb left Saturday Sat-urday for New Harmony to spend the remainder of the summer with relatives. LaPrele and Betty Sanders of Los Angeles are: here to spend a -few weeks visiting their aunt, Miss LaPrele Pace. Mrs. Roxie Romney, daughter Miss Wanda and son Waldo and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Romney and family left Sunday for Yellowstone Yel-lowstone Park jto spend two weeks. Wayne Gardner returned Gun-day Gun-day night from Los Angeles where he had been on business. Misses Alice Bentley and Marion Mar-ion Lee returned 'Saturday night from the Grand Canyon where they spent a few days visiting. Mrs. Burns Hall and infant daughter of Cedar City were visiting vis-iting here the fore part of the week. This is the first greatgrandchild great-grandchild of Mrs.- Lottie Carter Car-ter of this city. Mrs. Mary Horsley has returned return-ed home from a visit with re-'.atives re-'.atives in Las Vegas. Warren Cox and son Kenneth left Wednesday for Hinckley to visit Mr. Cox's mother for a few days and to transact business. Ralph Bennett .-of Salt Lake City arrived here Saturday to spend a few weeks with his grandmother, Mrs. Miary Jarvis. On June 30, Miss Ethel Hafen of Santa Clara, Utah, was married mar-ried to Horace McArthur of Los Angeles, by Judge Charles L. Bogue at his home on San Rafael Ra-fael Avenue. Only members of the iiumediate families were in attendance. After the ceremony there was a wedding breakfast and later the couple left on a honeymoon trip motoring through Southern California. They will establish residence in Las Angeles. An-geles. The bride is a second cousin to Mrs. Bogue. Misses Shirley and Vera Byers left Wednesday morning for Chicago Chi-cago to spend the winter with their father, J. W. Byers who is employed there, and to attend at-tend the Chicago High School. Wyatt Miles spent the fore part of the week here from Salt Lake City visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Miles and on business. Mrs. Frank McArtuhr left Tuesday for Cedar City to spend a week with her mother, Mrs. Minnie Farnsworth. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Ence and nephew spent Tuesday night here with her mother, Mrs. Rose Ramsey while enroute to Salt Lake City from Los Angeles. A delightful lawn party was given at the home of . Mrs. Alice Milne last Thursday which was attended by the following: Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Milne, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Milne, and Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Milne and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Milne of St. George, Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Herbert Milne, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Milne and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peiren ot Cedar City and Miss Alice Milne who is spending her vacation here from Salt Lake "City. The evening was spent playing cards and visiting after which delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. Clarence Hardman came in Sunday from Woodland to visit vis-it her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Angus An-gus Cannon. Mlss Elva Seaman returned Friday morning from Cedar City where she spent her vacation with her grandmother, Mrs. Alice Seaman. Larry Hiatt and Willi Brown of Springville came in Tuesday to spend a few days visiting friends. Errol Woodbury of Hurricane and Rondo and David Ruesch of Antelope Springs were visitors at the John T. Wloodbury home here (Saturday while enroute home from Pine Valley where they attended " the Stockmen's Convention. Mts. Brigham Wulfenste'in, Sr., left Tuesday for Milford to visit her daughter, Mrs. Marvel Con-nell. Con-nell.
