This line story about Mr. Stewart is fitting praise that any photographer In the country would be proud to receive. And the best part of lit. according to Mr. Stewart, is i that it came without any solicit- ation. This Is the third story of j this kind that Mr. Stewart, Jr.. i has had printed in other maga-, maga-, zines of a simular type. Maga-i Maga-i zines that go into the offices of every photographer and retail house in the country. Following is the story as it appeared in the Focus: For a suitable title for this ! article, one could well have chos- en "In Tune with the Infinite," i for Mr. Stewart has an interesting interest-ing background of music and an equally interesting family tree. His' father's people were friend.; of Benjamin Franklin and ar-l ar-l rived in America at the time Mr. I Franklin started to make a name for himself. His mother's people his mother's people were well settled by that time, for they arrived on the Mayflower. Mayflow-er. At the age of fifteen his mother was a pipe organist and was an active musician until quite recently. Young Stewart had his first musical experience as principal second violinist in an orchestra of 61 pieces. He was equally proficient at piano tuning and at one time completely overhauled and repaired a large pipe organ. His first interest in photography was revealed in 1903, in St. George, Utah, where he was instructed in-structed by J .J. Booth. In 1907 he went to Philadelphia and then to Camden, N. J. He has specialized in pictures of industrial, indus-trial, theatrical and advertising nature, also large maps. In addition to his music and photography, Mr. Stewart har given three years of service to the missionary service of the Latter Day Saints Church. He has an interesting hobby character char-acter analysis. His present studio is located in St. George, Utah. |
