Show OIL INDUSTRY STANDARDIZING OPERATIONS No industry in the United States is working harder than oil to standardize standard-ize its operations, reduce waste in every possible manner, and thereby conserve by fullest utilization one of the nation's greatest natural resources. To bring about the most practical results, a semiannual standardization conference is held under the auspices of the American Petroleum Institute. J. Edgar Pew, Chairman of the General Gen-eral Standardization Committee, recently re-cently said: "The work of this standardization stand-ardization branch of the American Petroleum Institute has advanced to a stage where we are getting gratifying resuu-s. xiie necessity ior tne woik, we all know. The cooperation in the work has been admirable. We have brought together what I consider the best minds in the oil industry on such work. Many who are engaged in this work will be in the most responsible positions in the oil industry in the future. fu-ture. "I think that the oil industry more than anything else, needs to get together to-gether on a program for accomplishing accomplish-ing the purpose of the industry. We have a very important duty to the public. We furnish it with one of the most necessary products that is needed. need-ed. "The industry has for a great many years gone ahead singly from its several different locations. It is now getting together in a manner where we . find that cooperation is beneficial and I am sure that this spirit will grow. We owe the duty to the public to do our work in an efficient and economical economi-cal manner, and I believe we are on the way to do this." |
