Show : Steven Casey excells in 4-H Horse Show This year's second 4-H Horse Show was completed at the Uintah County r Fairgrounds on Wednesday. Steven j. Cox, with the Utah State Extension Service, said in the past they have held only one show, but since other areas do a lot more, they decided to try another this year. The youth are divided into four age groups, 9 years and under, 10 and 11, :' 12 and 13, and 14 and older. Each of the ;. contestants compete in six events, and " each event is scored individually. The events include barrel racing, fitting and showmanship, western horseman-t horseman-t ship, pole bending, flag race, and the key hole event. Ribbons are given in each event and each age group. Besides the individual ribbons, trophies are given to the best of the contestants for overall performance. This year Steven Casey won the All Around for the entire show. Shelly Bastian won High Point in the 14 and over age group. Lean Warren was Reserve High Point, Kathy Lesh placed plac-ed third and Seth Hicken placed fourth. In the 12 and 13 age category Shelly Mathes won High Point, Minda Ar-rowchis Ar-rowchis and Clint Hicken tied for Reserve High Point, Toni Winn placed plac-ed third, and Pat Isaacs placed fourth. Carrie Casey was the High Point winner in the 10 and 11 age group, Tisha Duncan was Reserve High Point, Diona Christensen placed third, and Heidi Lesh placed fourth. In the nine and under age group Dar-rell Dar-rell Bastian was the High Point win- ner, Travis Duncan was Reserve High Point, Travis Christensen placed third and Nicole Aldridge and Audra Young tied for fourth. Cox said the turnout for this show wasn't as good as the earlier show this summer, but since this is the first time they have attempted the second show, he was pleased with the 27 total participants. Several local people donated their time to make the show successful. Ken Lesh was the announcer and Linda Meathes and Claudine Winn helped with the function and operation of the show.
