It isn't based on what they have but how they maintain and take care of their present property. The recognition award is under the Community Development and Civic Betterment Committee of the Chamber of Commerce with Rita Wetenkamp as chairman. Each month members of the committee com-mittee meet with a nomination in mind who they fee! has met all of the criteria set up. The committee decides who they feel should receive the award for that month. The committee members paint a sign showing the home is being recognized and the resident is presented with a certificate. According to Mr. Fisher, they will continue to select someone for the award each month until September. Then in the spring they will begin the program once again. Receiving an award like this isn't an unusual thing for Mrs. Murray. She received an award from the Deseret News for the best yard for trailer homes a number of years ago. "I've always had a good looking yard," said Mrs. Murray. She has worked on her yards all of her life. Mrs. Murray has lived here since 12. There wasn't anything in the place where she is now living when they first moved there. They had to haul in fill dirt because it was so low. "We did all this from scratch," she said. Mrs. Murray and her hutand would work together in their yards. She decided what she wanted in her yard and went to work "Over the years you will change things to suit yourself," she said. "I still change it." Mrs. Murray has many different kinds of flowers, trees, and decorations decora-tions throughout her yard. Mable's children and grandchildren come to help her in the spring get started and tlx-n she takes care of it from there. ThnxiglxHit the sumnuT UVy will stop by and give her a helping hand with the mowing, watering and weeding The advice she gives to other people is to have in mind what you want to do. "You'll change year after year adding things," she said. After you have in nnnd what you want to do then go to work and do it. "II just made me feel gixxi like I had accomplished something," said Mrs. Murray. Another award will he presented in July for another resident who meets the criteria for the award.
