Show Ex clerk gets jail sentence A former Vernal resident who pleaded guilty with three other women to a charge of theft from a grocery store was sentenced in 7th Circuit Court Wednesday to a year in jail and was fined $1,000. Judge Whitney D. Hammond suspended all but 60 days of the sentence for Kayleen Boren, who was accused with three other former checkers at the Vernal Safeway store of under-ringing each other on grocery items. She was also put on probation.. Hammond told Boren she would be eligible for work release after serving 14 days in the Uintah County jail, and that after 30 days the State Division of Adult Probation and Parole could recommend her release. She was told that if she paid $750 of the fine within four months the remaining $250 would be suspended. Boren who is working in Wyoming, was ordered to appear June 7 to say when she could start the jail term. |
